It is argued that we are living in a throw-away society: people throw away what they use in daily

life, instead of recycling or reusing them. Why has this happened and how to address this issue?

Essay:

Nowadays, citizens are likely to use products only once instead of keeping these items for a long

time or get rebirth of these resources. It is important to know the reasons of this trend and the

methods to change the phenomenon.

Some people always cast away the produces which have used for only once because these

products are not as expensive as before. The production processes, with the development of the

society’s productivity, are more and more effective. As a result, the factories could use much less time

to manufacture goods as same quantity as before so that the price of these produces would be much

lower.

Another reason is that people lack environmental awareness. Most of the citizens have not

realized that their ways of life would bring about many pollutions of environment and energy

consumption. They do not know that if they could use these productions for a long time there would

be less waste of resources and less pollutions in the nature. If they are aware that recycling can make

their lifestyles more sustainable, they will possibly try to do that.

As the overconsumption of consumer goods is pervasive, it is important to take some measures

to resolve this problem. First of all, the government should stipulate various laws and regulations to

deter persons from throwing away the dairy products. For example, the tax penalty can be imposed

on the use of some disposable products, including plastic bags, thereby encouraging people to use

eco-friendly alternatives. In addition, everyone should raise the awareness of environment and give

individuals’ contributions to protect the environment.

In conclusion, community’s attitude toward consumption and the low price are main reasons

behind this issue. The top priority is to raise people’ awareness of environmental protection and

motivate them to change their lifestyles if we want to address this problem.
